Public Charities and Foundations Benefit Minnesota Communities

Deliver vital community services
On any given night in the greater Twin Cities, more than 7,500
people are on the streets and more than 7,000 don’t have a
stable home. As part of the Heading Home Minnesota
Funder’s Collaborative, Greater Twin Cities United Way
contributed to helping people find homes through nearly $2.5
million in government and private funding. In 2017, 3,000
youth and families received shelter and stable housing, and
36,000 people received necessary health services.

Give voice to the people they serve
In 2018, the Otto Bremer Trust made more than $50 million in
grants and program-related investments to more than 590
organizations and programs in Minnesota, North Dakota, and
western Wisconsin. That includes supporting educational
opportunities and training programs that help individuals
receive the support they need while pursuing their quest to
find meaningful employment.

Contribute to vibrant communities
Minneapolis Institute of Art is a world class art museum near
downtown Minneapolis. Housing over 90,000 works of art and
representing more than 5,000 years of world art and culture the
Minneapolis Institute of Art welcomes everyone and offers free
daily museum admission

Advance solutions for challenges facing society
Based in Minneapolis, The Hispanic Advocacy and Community
Empowerment through Research is the only advocacy-driven
and Latino-focused research organization in the Midwest.
HACER works in concert with Latino communities to access,
generate, and disseminate credible and relevant research in
order to inform institutional decisions and public policy.
