Public Charities and Foundations Benefit Maine Communities

Deliver vital community services
The United Way of Eastern Maine supports agencies and programs that deliver
quality health and human services. With only 48% of children in Eastern Maine
reading proficiently at the end of third grade, the United Way of Eastern Maine is
supporting and enhancing Early Childhood Development that gives kids the best
possible start.

Give voice to the people they serve
Catholic Charities Maine serves over 50,000 individuals each year through its many
programs and services, such as mental health counseling and services for the
elderly and disabled. Catholic Charities and its network of volunteers also advocate
on issues affecting those they serve, such as treatment programs for substance
abuse.

Contribute to vibrant communities
The Ogunquit Museum of American Art welcomes thousands of visitors each year.
The museum collects, preserves, exhibits, and interprets American art from the 19th
century to the present and hosts various lectures, films, and discussions on
American art, regional artists, and the history of the Ogunquit art colony.

Advance economic solutions for remote communities
Maine Philanthropy Center’s mission is to provide opportunity, leadership, and
support to advance the effectiveness of philanthropy in Maine and its ability to make
a meaningful difference. Through MPC’s programs and events, members come
together to explore shared interests, learn from one another, and hear from local,
regional, and national experts.
