Nonprofits Have a Critical Role to Play in a Healthy Democracy
A strong and vibrant civil society depends on organizations that can elevate community voices, foster participation, and ensure that decision-makers hear directly from the people most affected by public policy. When more nonprofits participate in this work, the sector’s collective impact grows and democracy becomes more inclusive and representative.
To support this work, Independent Sector, Nonprofit VOTE, League of Women Voters, and Alliance for Justice’s Bolder Advocacy program are launching Voices in Action. This collaborative initiative will equip nonprofits with the tools, confidence, and clarity they need to engage their communities in the democratic process ahead of the 2026 midterm elections and beyond.
Starting in June 2026, we’ll send monthly emails with guidance on nonpartisan voter engagement, key dates and deadlines, outreach strategies, and more. Sign up for the series below.
