This tool contains questions that can be used to assess an organization’s overall capacity to recruit, engage, manage, and sustain volunteer resources, and increase impact through strategic engagement.
The questions can also spark dialogue with organizational leadership regarding: useful indications of an organization’s capacity; readiness to engage volunteers and other community resources strategically; and general health and sustainability.
This tool was developed by the Leighty Foundation, an original funding partner of the Initiative for Strategic Volunteer Engagement (ISVE): a three-year partnership of visionary funders and national nonprofits aiming to transform the future of volunteerism. ISVE now lives within Independent Sector as IS’s Strategic Volunteer Engagement Program.
