Kaitlin is the Manager of Communications for the Do Good Institute (DGI). DGI is a campus-wide initiative working to reinvent the college experience by transforming students’ idealism into extraordinary outcomes through rich learning experiences built on real-world application. DGI, launched in September 2016, is supporting the next generation of social change leaders to spur innovation locally, nationally, and globally.
Over the course of her career, Kaitlin has positively impacted education institutions, nonprofits, government agencies, corporations, and those they serve through strategic communications, messaging, branding, and media relations. Prior to joining the Do Good Institute, Kaitlin worked at C.Fox Communications, a mission-driven communications agency focused on helping move missions forward for organizations that do good for the good of others. Her creative thinking and passion for telling stories about positive change, innovative ideas and social impact have enabled her to secure valuable media coverage across a range of local and national publications, including the Washington Post, Bethesda Magazine, Wall Street Journal, New York Daily News, Los Angeles Times, and Chicago Tribune.
Kaitlin previously served as the Public Information Officer for The Humane Society of the United States, where she led and executed media relations strategies for various animal welfare campaigns, the advancement of state and federal legislation and ballot initiatives, and large scale events. Prior to her time at The Humane Society, she worked at Susan Davis International, a boutique, woman-owned public relations agency, developing and implementing strategic public relations campaigns and events for corporate, nonprofit, foundation and government organizations, including the dedication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Kaitlin graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and received a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of Maryland. A Maryland native, Kaitlin lives in Gaithersburg with her husband and two rescue dogs.
