In this month’s issue, we learn about Goodwill Industries, a nonprofit that strives to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by helping people reach their full potential through education, skills training and the power of work. Laura Walling, Goodwill’s director of advocacy and legislative affairs, said, “We feel that nonpartisan voter engagement, including voter education, is important to strengthening communities particularly since decisions made by policymakers have direct impact on the individuals which local Goodwill organizations serve.”
