5. Promoting Celebration and Rest for Black Women and Femme Social Justice Leaders
It’s important to celebrate and honor Black women and femme leaders as they do the long work of seeking equity and justice. A fellowship co-hosted by IS member ProInspire; Dr. Chera Reid, philanthropic advisor and founder of Freedom Dreams in Philanthropy; and The Chisholm Legacy Project does just that. It celebrates, provides space and conditions for rest, and invites in the creativity of Black women and femmes working across and at the intersections of climate, racial, and gender justice. 4. Helping Blood Cancer Patients Live Longer, Better Lives
The vast majority of breakthroughs in blood cancer research can be traced back to the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society (LLS), an IS member since its founding 25 years ago. As the world’s largest nonprofit health organization dedicated to blood cancers, LLS takes a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to drive better treatments and improve quality of life for all those impacted by blood cancers. 3. Expanding Opportunities for Young People To Take Action for Nature
Increasing access to conservation and exploration learning and leadership is vital to support young people in leading the way to solving our planet’s challenges. The National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy, both IS members, are partnering to offer young adults an eight-week virtual learning and leadership experience to empower them to take action on behalf of the planet.
