Practitioners and academics: Submit your proposal by April 15 for the 13th annual Symposium on Public Policy for Nonprofits — co-hosted by Independent Sector, the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA), and Nonprofit Policy Forum. This year’s symposium theme, “Nonprofit Civic Infrastructure: A Recipe for a Thriving Nation,” will focus on public policies at the federal, state, and local levels that help fortify the civic infrastructure, which underpins a strong nonprofit and philanthropic sector. So put on your apron, grab your whisk, and get cooking!
Recipe for a Thriving Nation

Ingredients:
- 1 cup public policies that advance nonprofit and philanthropic representation in government
- 1 cup public policies that build nonprofit and philanthropic capacity and emphasize equity
- 1 cup public policies that create an accommodating environment for nonprofit and philanthropic activity
- 1 tbsp. sector advocates
- 1 tsp. policymakers
Mix all ingredients until thoroughly blended. Bake for one legislative session.
