(WASHINGTON, March 8, 2022) – Today, the Independent Sector Board of Directors has announced the committee members of the national search for a new President and CEO and has named Korn Ferry, a global organizational consulting firm, to lead the critical process in identifying the next leader to take the helm of the organization.
Established in 1980, Independent Sector is the only national membership organization that brings together a diverse community of changemakers at nonprofits, foundations, and corporate giving programs working to strengthen civil society and ensure all people in the United States thrive. Independent Sector is looking for a national leader who will take the organization into a new era managing the ever-evolving set of global challenges, while remaining steadfast toward the organization’s commitment to driving a healthy and equitable nonprofit sector and nation.
Daniel J. Cardinali, current President and CEO of Independent Sector, announced in January that he would be stepping down this calendar year pending the announcement of his replacement. Sarah Kastelic, Vice Chair of the IS Board of Directors and Executive Director, National Indian Child Welfare Association, and Jennifer Ford Reedy, Treasurer of the Board and President of Bush Foundation, have been identified as co-chairs of the IS CEO Search Committee. Alongside the chairs, the following leaders will also serve on the committee:
- David Williams, IS Board Member and Principal at Deloitte LLP
- Stacey Stewart, IS Board Member and President and CEO of March of Dimes
- Marco Davis, IS Board Member and President and CEO of Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute
- Roger Nozaki, Vice President for Strategy & Programs at the Barr Foundation
