(WASHINGTON, November 19, 2021) – Daniel J. Cardinali, president and CEO of Independent Sector issues the following statement:
“Independent Sector is pleased with today’s House passage of the Build Back Better Act because it includes historic investments in priorities that will help the nonprofit sector in its work to ensure all people thrive. We’re encouraged the Build Back Better Act supports key civic infrastructure priorities, including the Civilian Climate Corps, affordable child care and housing, and workforce development. These investments will help all of our communities become stronger and healthier, and we look forward to advocating for them as this legislation makes its way through the Senate.”
For more information, read Independent Sector’s bill summary of the Build Back Better Act, as well as a Nonprofit Infrastructure Investment Advocacy Group (NIIAG) letter to leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives about the Act. Independent Sector and KABOOM! co-chair NIIAG, a coalition of about 50 national, regional, and local nonprofits and foundations. NIIAG supports federal investments needed to rebuild the nation.
