Last week at Upswell in Los Angeles, changemakers from across the country gathered to celebrate the work of visionary leaders. We’re thrilled to share the winners of three awards:

Angela Glover Blackwell, founder of PolicyLink, was honored with the John W. Gardner Leadership Award, joining the ranks of previous winners including Rosanne Haggerty, Bryan Stevenson, Michael Brown, Alberto Ibargüen, and Constance Rice.
Stacy Stout, assistant to the City Manager of Grand Rapids, received the 2018 American Express NGen Leadership Award, which recognizes one emerging changemaker 40 or under who has demonstrated transformative social impact through collaborative leadership.
Stacy was selected from a group of impressive award finalists that included Loren Cardeli (A Growing Culture), KeAndra Cylear Dodds (Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles), Monisha Kapila (ProInspire), Quardean Lewis-Allen (Made in Brownsville), and Joseph McKellar (PICO California).
Connect Our Kids, a Virginia-based nonprofit that serves foster kids and families, received first place in the Innovate for Good Challenge, which recognizes organizations that are catalyzing social change through new I.T., such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and/or extended reality.
We also celebrated Innovate for Good Challenge runners up – YWCA Silicon Valley (2nd Place), Raheem AI (3rd Place).
