Public Charities and Foundations Benefit Wyoming Communities

Deliver vital community services
The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to conserve the
lands and waters on which all life depends. In 2018, The
Nature Conservancy in Wyoming administered projects to
improve stream health at Heart Mountain and Red Canyon
Ranch Preserve, as well as working with more than two dozen
partners to improve conditions on the Popo Agie River and
better secure important wildlife migration routes.

Give voice to the people they serve
The American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network of
Wyoming works to mobilize people in the fight against cancer.
ACS CAN advocates of Wyoming promote programs that
provide vital cancer research and tobacco prevention.

Contribute to vibrant communities
The local Girl Scouts council provides girls in K-12 with a wide
variety of leadership opportunities with a focus on financial
literacy, STEM, health, and environmental awareness. The Girl
Scouts of Montana and Wyoming serve 8,500 girls each year in
an area of 245,000 square miles.

Advance solutions for challenges facing society
In partnership with FamilyWize, United Way of Southwest
Wyoming offers discounts on prescription drugs. FamilyWize
cards are primarily for people with no health insurance or
prescription coverage. They can also be used for prescriptions
not covered by health insurance, Medicaid, Medicare or VA
benefits. This program saves residents of southwest Wyoming
over $300,000 per year.
