Kresge Foundation and John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s created this set of resources and reports around community investment for understanding the work that is being done across cities to increase both the supply of capital and the ability of organizations and places to absorb that capital.
This report provides a useful framework for identifying the network of actors that are connected in a system of community investment. This source is intended to be used by communities to help identify the elements of a local system that are functioning well, and those that are constraining the effectiveness of leaders and organizations. At the end of the report, the authors provide the worksheets that they used in their community assessments. These worksheets are also highly useful tools that can help groups from other communities walk through and assess their level of capacity to absorb capital.
