About Independent Sector's Policy Engagement
We build communities of leaders seeking to inform and change systems to better support nonprofit organizations and their stakeholders. We also are members of communities and coalitions focusing on a wide range of issues, like charitable giving, nonpartisan civic engagement, and public service loan forgiveness.
Public Policy Committee
Our Public Policy Committee is composed of IS members who advise us on our programs, strategies, and policy agenda.
NIC
The Nonprofit Infrastructure Coalition (NIC) advocates for federal investments in the wake of multiple crises facing our country.
Symposium on Public Policy for Nonprofits
The Symposium brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore key public policy questions and issues affecting nonprofits and philanthropy.
Visiting Scholars
The Visiting Scholar Program deeply engages a nonprofit research expert to help practitioners improve their work on issues impacting the entire sector.
