Sharifa Love-Schnur is director of corporate relations at Independent Sector. She is responsible for supporting IS’s fundraising and development strategy with a focus on corporate relationships and the National Summit. Sharifa brings 13 years of experience in nonprofits and philanthropy serving organizations with a deep understanding of donor and member relationships, sponsorships, and development data.
Previously, Sharifa worked at Philanthropy DMV and was responsible for member engagement and foundation relationships. Prior to Philanthropy DMV, she worked at Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders (SMYAL) as development manager where she grew recurring donors, major donors, and corporate gifts and implemented a data management system.
Sharifa received a Bachelor of Arts from Yale College. When not at work, she can be found watching rugby, in a spin class, cooking an elaborate meal, or searching for the best type of fried potato.
