Olivia is the Director, Equity & Holistic Grantmaking. She joined Greater Twin Cities United Way in 2017 and is one of the leaders in Community Impact focusing on the grant stewardship of the current impact areas: Household Stability, Educational Success, and Economic Opportunity. Likewise, Olivia is responsible for leading the organizations internal equity steering committee, which seeks to ensure GTCUW is a best in class workplace for all by fostering an inclusive environment for its employees, regardless of race, gender, nationality, ability, age or sexual orientation.
Prior to joining the United Way, Olivia served as Program Evaluator at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota. While at Blue Cross, Olivia developed metrics that captured quantity and quality, numbers and nuance, and shifted the narrative from mere transactions to transformative evaluation outcomes and processes. Olivia works hard to keep equity and humility at the core of her work. She ultimately became an evaluator to disrupt a system that often “took from” instead of “partnered with.”
Olivia is driven by the possibility of creating equity for communities of color. She is originally from Detroit, Michigan and loves art which shows up as being a formally trained make-up artist.
