As the Manager of Conference and Events Programs for Independent Sector, Mankaa Ngwa-Suh leads the development and implementation of event programming, including for the Upswell Summit. She works collaboratively with IS members, funders, staff, and others to engage communities and create meaningful experiences.
Mankaa has been a longtime proponent of equity, access, and allyship for underrepresented people. Prior to joining IS, she served as the Director of the Women’s Leadership Initiative at the Urban Land Institute, and as the Program Services Manager for Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital. She has also held roles supporting higher education assessment and in community reporting. Mankaa earned an MBA from Syracuse University and a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is also the author of many articles in local and national publications.
