Assiatu is Human Resources Associate at Independent Sector. She supports the People and Culture team across a range of HR functions to help foster a positive and thriving workplace.
Assiatu brings years of experience supporting HR programs, talent processes, and employee-focused initiatives within mission-driven organizations. Previously, Assiatu served as an HR generalist at the American Federation of Government Employees where she led and supported functions such as payroll, recruitment, benefits and HR analytics. She’s also served as a Special Assistant and Project Administrator for the Urban Institute and has lead talent acquisition initiatives for organizations such as Color of Change, Capital One, and the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors. Assiatu holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park and is SHRM-CP certified. When she’s not working, Assiatu enjoys crocheting, sewing, and exploring other creative outlets.
