To advance the common good, a strong leader must be able to navigate the complexities of the communities our sector serves. That means developing a keen understanding of equity, a commitment to inclusion, and an appreciation for the diversity that defines our country.
This session will highlight lessons from Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Race Equity and Inclusion Action Guide. Using the guide’s steps to advance and embed diversity, equity, and inclusion within organizational practices, this learning event will provide:
- A framework for understanding different dimensions of racism.
- How to identify and analyze the root causes of racial inequities.
- Key terms, concepts and definitions relevant to race equity.
- How to talk about race by establishing shared values and a common understanding.
