Last Saturday in conjunction with the opening of the Smithsonian’s new African American Museum of History and Culture, I was privileged to be part of a private reception hosted by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation that previewed a new series premiering tonight, America Divided.
This documentary series, described below, calls all of us to an overdue conversation and recognition that we are all more connected than we are divided. Individuals, families, and communities: let this profound documentary light in us a commitment to each other and to America’s future, to seed actions that will make this country whole.
Thank you to the Kellogg Foundation, the visionary producers, and the amazing actors and musicians who have underwriten a production which is must-viewing for us all.
Sneak preview: The series premiere tells three moving stories as reported by: hip hop artist and actor Common visiting his hometown Chicago; actress Rosario Dawson with an inside look at the Flint water crisis; and TV producer Norman Lear on the housing crisis in New York City.
Please join me for this new series that begins tonight at 9pm EDT/8 pm CDT on EPIX or EPIX.com.
