Attention nonprofit practitioners and academics!
How can strengthening civic infrastructure support a robust nonprofit and philanthropic sector? That’s the question on the table at the virtual Annual Symposium on Public Policy for Nonprofits, co-hosted by Independent Sector, the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA), and Nonprofit Policy Forum.
This one-day symposium on Friday, September 20 is themed “Nonprofit Civic Infrastructure: A Recipe for a Thriving Nation.” We’ll delve into public policies at federal, state, and local levels that strengthen the civic infrastructure essential for a robust nonprofit and philanthropic sector.
This symposium is a unique opportunity to engage with fellow nonprofit leaders, researchers, and policymakers to discuss and develop strategies, and to create a more accommodating and equitable environment for nonprofit and philanthropic activities. Your participation and insights are crucial in shaping the future policies that will support and sustain our sector.
As we approach the 2024 elections, political candidates are making their rounds, filling state fairs and airwaves with promises that should also include strengthening the nonprofit sector. While recent reports show strong economic performance, our sector faces challenges like decreasing charitable giving and increasing workforce stressors. It’s on us to speak up for our sector’s needs — and to advocate for the policies that will stabilize and support nonprofit’s critical work.
Don’t miss out! Register for “Nonprofit Civic Infrastructure: A Recipe for a Thriving Nation” to shape the input policymakers need to help make our sector infrastructure stronger. Speakers include: Beth Steinhorn, VQ Volunteer Strategies; Jodi Benenson, University of Nebraska Omaha; Joshua Cogan, A Way Home America; Katy McKinney-Bock, Tech Matters; Tan Madhavan, GivingTuesday; and Wendy Chen, Texas Tech University.
Join us this September and be part of the solution. Your voice matters, and your participation can make a difference. Let’s come together for a stronger, more equitable, and resilient nonprofit sector. See you at the symposium!
