Pickett Slater Harrington has spent his career igniting social change. He has served with several national nonprofit social change organizations including the Children’s Defense Fund, the Urban League and Public Allies. He has also served as an adjunct professor and senior consultant for the Community Building Institute at Xavier University. He is the former manager of leadership development and effectiveness at Independent Sector where he focuses on moving a new generation of social change leaders from next to now.
Pickett is also the principal and founder of Joltage Innovation, a social change design firm that creates innovative solutions to social challenges by designing, investing and incubating micro ventures- small scale, locally driven sustainable enterprises.
He holds a master’s degree in social work with a specialization in organizations and communities from the University of South Carolina and a business master’s certificate from Xavier University. His greatest joy is spending time with his wife, Khalilah, daughter, Addison, and son, Alex.
