Millicent Boykin is a connector, convener, and capacity builder that works with and for the community. Driven by a sense of connectedness, she believes serving together can bridge divides if we truly want the best for our communities. Millicent is the Director of Statewide Initiatives for OneStar Foundation and leads statewide networks, programs, and partnership initiatives including Nonprofit Strong, Disaster Resilience, and Volunteer Texas. Prior to OneStar, Millicent served VolunteerNow for two decades before ending her tenure as Chief Program Officer where she oversaw programs and services that supported 3,500 organizations and more than 100,000 volunteers. A dedicated community volunteer, Millicent is on the Best Buddies North Texas Advisory Board, Read Up Advisory Council, and the American Red Cross Diversity & Inclusion Committee. She has also participated in Leadership Dallas, Leadership ISD, and is currently in Leadership Texas. Millicent holds a degree in Psychology from Northwestern University and is a Certified Group Facilitator. Her passion for service is exemplified by one of her favorite quotes, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do; interfere with what I can do.”
