Imran Khan is theCEO and Co-Founderof Embarc, a leading organization in the movement forexperiential learning. He has spent the last 12 years of his career connecting students, teachersand schools to learning beyond the classroom, first as a teacher in the south side of Chicago,then with Embarc. Embarc has been recognized by the University of Chicago Consortium as oneof the best at designing developmental experiences in the country and received a highlyregarded Ashoka Fellowship. He has also served as an advisor to the MacArthur Foundation, theWorkforce Funders Alliance, National Louis University, the Equitable Learning and DevelopmentProject and the education transition committee of Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
Today, Embarc has expanded to serve more than 4,000 students across 21 Chicago PublicSchools and has increased successful postsecondary outcomes for students by 30%. It leads 24,000 experiences a year to bring people together across economic, geographic, racial and political differences. By 2025, Embarc will reach more than 10,000 students, creating more than 60,000 experiences and 240,000 human to human connections each year.
