We’ve spent a lot of time listening and learning with changemakers in LA. And here’s what you’ve told us. Homelessness, the environment, immigration, health, youth development, criminal justice, education, and workforce development are some of the most critical, complex, and cross-cutting issues facing the region.

So, this lab starts with a question. If we were to think differently about these issues – considering different angles, tapping unexpected resources, experimenting with bold ideas – what might be possible?

We’ll set the stage by exploring how the Skid Row Housing Trust is moving the needle on homelessness with an unusual and creative model. Next, we’ll clear our minds and open our imaginations with a guided meditation (it’s quite relaxing). And then, we’ll use human-centered design to dive headfirst into the issues.

Sound ambitious? That’s the point! Ready to get to work?
