What would you like to ask the incoming Secretary of the Treasury?
In January, the Senate Finance Committee is expected to hold a confirmation hearing for Steve Mnuchin, President-elect Trump’s nominee to serve as the next Secretary of the Treasury. Among agencies under Mnuchin’s purview will be the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which has direct oversight of the charitable sector. We have a unique opportunity as a sector to help policymakers vet this nominee.
Independent Sector is compiling a list of questions on the charitable community and charitable giving to be included in the record, and potentially asked live by members of the committee at the hearing. Either way, Mnuchin must provide follow-up responses, and we can use our questions to both educate him and have a better sense of where the likely next Treasury Secretary stands on key issues for our community.
