This event is part 12 of the Nonprofit Marketing Manifesto series.
Measurement. It’s a fraught topic for those who work in the nonprofit sector. Funders, boards and donors are constantly asking nonprofits to measure their impact and report on their outcomes.
The same goes for measuring marketing and communications. Those who work on nonprofit marcomm teams are constantly asked to report on the return on investment of their efforts, and increasingly, they’re now being asked to make a connection between marketing and communications investments and mission impact.
In an ideal world, we’d be able to clearly understand the outcomes of every investment (including marketing investments) on our organizations’ missions. But measuring the impact of marketing and other investments is often far easier said than done.
While many measurement approaches have been suggested and experimented with, there are no universally accepted measurement standards from which nonprofits are expected to work. That, combined with the cost, time and technology required to effectively measure impact and outcomes, can be prohibitive for many organizations. In the worst cases, it can take away resources that would be better used to deliver programs and services to those in need.
So how should nonprofits think about measurement generally, and as it relates to marketing, in 2020 and beyond? Attend this webinar to find out.
