Event Details

Every year Members of Congress return home for a month of district activity called “August Recess.” Town hall meetings are often considered a staple during this time and most associations encourage their advocates to attend, even if they can sometimes be loud and confrontational. But there is a wide range of other activities your organization can engage in during August Recess that may have even greater potential to capture the hearts and minds of your elected officials.

Join us on Thursday, June 22 at 3:00pm ET for a strategic examination of the benefits and limitations of town halls, district office meetings, and site visits, and for guidance on choosing the right summer strategy for your organization. We also will discuss Independent Sector’s partnership with Soapbox Consulting that will provide options for you to schedule August Recess site visits and district meetings with minimal strain on your organization’s staff.

Summer recess is coming . . . let’s get ready to be vocal and visible together!
