This resource helps you understand intersectionality: complex issues faced by people with overlapping identities of race and sexual orientation/gender, and how these issues impact people in public and in the workplace. Every member of your staff is multidimensional, including your staff of color and your LGBTQ staff. These individuals are often asked to prioritize one part of their identity over the other in order to succeed. To move forward, your organization needs to respect and value all of the identities that make its staff unique. This resource looks at the work of diversity, equity and inclusion through a dual lens to provide a roadmap and resources on how your organization can do this. The resource is divided into eight sections to provide a thorough understanding of how organizations can work on race equity while applying an LGBTQ lens, to ensure that the efforts don’t have a negative impact on one’s multiple identities.
