Take Action on the Estate Tax

Contact your Senators now and ask them to pass HR 4154 to permanently extend the estate tax at 2009 levels. Review the estate tax talking points below and add information about your organization to the sample letter provided. Locate contact information for your senators on their respective websites or call the US Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to your senator's office. Tell them:

• I urge you to support legislation passed by the House (HR 4154) to permanently extend the estate tax at 2009 levels, thereby protecting this important incentive to give back to our communities through charitable contributions and tax revenues.
• Our nation cannot afford to let the estate tax be further eroded.
• Ask your Senator how he or she plans to vote on estate tax legislation.
