The Detroit Zoo hosted a Threads community conversation on May 4, 2015. The 102 participants surfaced themes related to racial equity and diversity, including the impact of gentrification and the relative lack of diversity in the sector’s leadership and workforce. While exploring challenges facing the sector, several participants noted that nonprofits and foundations will need to collaborate more across subject area and geographic silos, and to adapt to stay ahead of rapid changes in society.
